In addition, each issue will contain a feature story, music reviews and relative commentaries, local music performances, amateur and professional musicians' network, and readers' comments. My hope is to engage in monthly intellectual discussions that will delight, enlighten, and inspire people of varied musical tastes and interests. As seen, the first issue is dedicated to my experiences as a Fulbright Scholar in Poland.
Music is a phenomenon that transcends all boundaries, In this view, the Newsletter is broad in scope as it aims to promote music in varied forums. Some of these include education, performance, business, different music styles, music in society and culture, and amateur and professional activities. In closing, I hope you find the Newsletter to be engaging and stimulating so that you look forward to reading it on a regular basis. May music bring you an abundance of joy greater than the incalculable pleasure it has given me.

Fulbright in Poland

As many of you know, I have the distinguished honor and pleasure of teaching at the University of Marie Curie Sklodowskiej in Lublin, Poland as a Fulbright Scholar. Duly noted as America's flagship program for intercultural and international exchange of higher education, ". . .the Fulbright Program, named in honor of Senator J. William Fulbright, was established by the U.S. Congress and signed into law by President Harry Truman on August 1, 1946. . . In addition to scholarly and professional exchanges in the asrts and humanities, jurisprudence and the human sciences, agriculture and engineering, current Fulbrighters also teach, conduct research, and disseminate information or work on projects in environmental studies, information technologies, economics and finance, and strengthening civil societies. Fulbrighters are the core of the international production and exchange of knowledge and technologies, and the Program's success is measured by their record of continuous contributions" (Handbook for American Fulbright Grantees, 2005-2006).

I would like to share some of my wonderful experiences of Poland through pictures. By no means do these pictures fully represent the scope of Polish society. I hope they do, however, provide a glimpse of Polish culture that will encourage you seek out and experience the beauty that I have had the priviledge in doing.
